The other cars from the Road warrior

Post by matt »

Ok, I remember as a kid going to Universal Studios in Florida- the big theme park in orlando. I remember there seeing

all the really freaky barbarian vehicles from The Road Warrior, which seemed really strange to me at the time.

They were all on exhibit in an open space in one area of the park, with a small plaque that explained them-

Does anybody else know about this?

I've never seen anything mentioned about these cars- it seems someone would be interested.

I remeber that place I went there when I was little. I dont remeber the Mad Max vehciles and the likes. Its been over a decade and I wasnt a Mad Max fan cause I never saw the films back then. I was more interested in cartoons and go carts.

Long live the oldskool. Go Gi Joe. And transformers too.

Those cars were from a pilot or TV series called "Road Raiders" which

was obviously derived from the MM series. They were cobbled together

from ex-military vehicles and WWII airplanes to give them the

industrial/post-apoc look. I have never seen the series or the

pilot, and I would imagine it's part of one of the many projects

in Hollywood that get killed before they every get off the ground.

I finished VFX work on "Supernova" a year ago, and they're finally

getting round to releasing it. Many other projects aren't so lucky.

they get green-lit, then the studio gets squirrely and pulls

the funding. That's how it goes.
