Karol:" set up some punk shows and maybe find a drive-in where we could watch the movies."
No Drive-Ins in Pahrump. ( and the Sonic Burger doesn't count )
Exibition of the trio will require WRITTEN permission from M.G.M. ( hence the cease order )
Nye County is just the "type" (.i.e..legal brothels.) of county to issue special event permits for the ROAD part.

Slow down just a bit Mr. Fenner. For all we know there could be a bill on the hill right now with the date Monday 04/18/05 that's trying to make this kind of thing punishable by lethal injection.
Why would I NOT want to see how your case turns out before I chomp that potentialy deadly bit?
Might be able to find the model / year / color correct MACK right in Pahrump.

One caution re: Burning Man and associated regions...
The alkali dust plays hell with cars/equipment. I'd hate to see somebody's Interceptor get damaged by the corrosive effects of the dust that gets EVERYWHERE. Is Parumph, NV similar to the bowl where Burning Man is held?
So far sounds like a good tentative plan to me. Like others, I'd like to see an East Coast, Midwest, North Central series of events also, but I'd probably show for this. I'd allow for several days, though. Would hate to drive all that way for a one/two day deal...

The alkaline content of the BURNING MAN location is abnormaly high, but the entire area around Pahrump has none of these "corrosive" qualities. There is PLENTY OF DUST , and any type of pre-filter on a vehicles air intake is a thought to take into consideration.
From another angle: State Highway 160 is Pahrump's "main street" , and the chosen route by the U.S. DOE for 99.9% of the nuclear waste that's transported by truck to YUCCA MOUNTAIN. Just last Sunday , I had the unfortunate opportunity to follow a 4 truck convoy loaded with those desert tan colored , RADIOACTIVE placard wearing , sea-cans.
How is it gonna' look to folks if we are in the near vicinity doing a re-enactment of a hollywood truck hijacking.?..it might go over like a lead balloon ....we have to consider both views...

Well a bit of good news....
When I called to confirm my court date for my charge of "Filming without a permit". I was told the prosecutor "rejected the charge" due to "No evidence to support the charges".... I feel this is even better than a dismisal (I hear those are kind of seen as a plea of no contest for the court/DA), and it's at least equal to a verdict of "Innocent"....This should eliminate fears for any those with personal /home video of the event.....
Most of us have our first court dates for the other charges this week, so we'll keep you all informed....

Greetings. Just some ideas here...no criticizms...
I'm with Mitch on the Eastern "Roadwar" idea. Consider that there's Scar, 5.7, Horner, myself, Maddox, Martino and at least a couple of other guys with coupes, sedans and a few Pursuit Specials and Interceptors to boot. Most of us live in the Detroit, Niagara, New York, Chicago, Indiana, and maybe Mitch in St. Louis (again?) area, plus I'm sure there's more that would come from down South.
In order to avoid another "Obstruction of a highway" situation, maybe have it as a car show type event around the movie theater or at a conference center that has a projection meeting room where the films could still be played on a big screen, and take "donations" for the room and food to by-pass the MGM copyright sections 506 and 507 for public showing laws of the trio.
Another idea is if anyone is in the Detroit area around the end of August, there is the Woodward Dream Cruise that goes from Detroit all the way up to Pontiac...about 40 miles. Maybe do a Convoy...but the Bronze are out in force...no burnouts, doing 5000rpm in second gear, "exhibition driving" etc.. It would have to be in single file in the two right lanes. About a million people show up annually and it goes for almost two weeks...a week before and after the actual weekend with all available parking spaces filled along the route with people camped out in lawn chairs and companies hosting outdoor food tents. It's a wild time.
Again, just some ideas...Cheers.

I think we can continue to do Roadwar runs down the highway. Next time we should:
*Ensure that all highway patrol stations in the area are aware of what is happening
or
*Get an official on-duty police escort
Also, it would really help if fans were not dressed in military uniforms. I think if there were more people dressed up in punk/biker/sci-fi/Mad Max gear, and more obviously Mad Max cars out there, we wouldn't have scared nearly as many people. I think we ended up looking more like fans of the Taliban or Black Hawk Down.

Great ideas guys. Nice to hear some good news about the "incident." It made it into our newspapers about a week ago, hear in Virginia.
Last of the V8 Intercepts, a piece of history, would have been a shame to blow it up

It also depends where and when you do a Roadwar. The Roadwar here in California was on Halloween. We had 4 very Mad Max vehicles. Most of us were in costume. We drove aggressively, surrounding and passing the rig many times. I even discharged my toy crossbow at the rig many times during the run. And we had absolutely no problems with the police.
