Actually, regarding "Stone Cold", I thought it was well done. It wasn't excellent but still not too far from the truth. Biker gangs are not to be underestimated.

Brian Bosworth was very good. I especially enjoyed Lance Enrikson as "Chains"... a good movie....

OK guys, so MG did a U-turn after saying MM4 would go ahead. But just think of all the good things MM has brought into your life. You would not be reading this for starters!!

MM4 should have been made 10 years.

Anyway MG has let himself go recently. Do you really want to see him in Leathers with a big fat gut and loads of make up covering his wrinkles?

I think its only a matter of time before MM is remade with modern cars and young actors.

It couldn't be made with Modern Cars, I mean yeah it could, but it would totally blow continuity - In the MAD MAX world, all the cars are either Frames with a motor and wheels, or Late 70's Muscle cars.

How they gonna explain a f**king SKYLINE turning up?

Rock,

If he means a remake of the original Mad Max, and not a sequel, all bets are off on continuity. Think of what they did to Gone In 60 Seconds.

I could see them remaking Mad Max, but they'd better keep it in the offbeat spirit of the original. No mainstram Fast 'n Furious/GTA San Andreas B.S. I hope. Stick with the original cars, or do Miller's original vision of futuristic hovercars/speeder bikes. Something like Syd Mead would've done. CGI lets tham do a lot of things that were impossible even a few years ago.

Personally, I'd like to see the late 70's-early 80's nihilistic feel kept intact. What with all the retro punk/garage band music success, there is a viable audience for the feel and look of the original.

True, Gibson DID let himself go BUT his character would older, wiser and tougher. Gibson could trim the fat manually or by CGI. He could excercise and turn that fat into muscle. And the wrinkles? CGI would take care of that. Simple. IF a remake is made, I think Vin Diesel or Russel Crowe or Brad Pitt could do the job- not some "no name" actor- that would be as much of a waste as it was when Dino Delaurentis chose director Brett Ratner (Rush Hour 1 &2) to direct the Hannibal Lector prequel "RED DRAGON"- a spastic screw up with no flare or spice- it looked more like a "made for TV movie" to me.
Pray that he's still out there... somewhere...

Think of how CGI in T3 corrected Arnold's personal flaws.

Arnie has had open heart surgery. He has wrinkles and crowsfeet.

All gone now...swept away...for reasons long forgetten.

I know that Eric Bana has been mentioned here as a possible replacement for Mel, but I think Joseph Fiennes could a better job:

Why the sudden hatred for Mel?

Listen, Fury Road is dead. I wanted that movie made more than anything but it just isn't happening. Yeah, Mel kinda screwed it up for us but do you really want to see some half-ass remake or sequel without Mel Gibson or George Miller?

C'mon, this is Mad Max. It's Miller and Gibson or nothing. It's pretty clear that Mel is done acting. He's put on a few pounds and he's aged considerably in the past four years. I also saw him in an online video where he was accepting an award for "The Passion of the Christ" and he was basically bald. A few wisps of hair but he's bald. I think he knows and has accepted that he's not the very attractive man he once was because of his hard living and aging.

I don't think we should hate him for it. I think he's content with his success and done with acting. He might show up in a few years in a supporting role but he just doesn't really look like the Mel we remember. Then again, a low-fat diet, a facelift and microsurgical hair transplantation might change all that...but I just don't think he's that type of guy.

Let's just hope Miller does a novel of Fury Road so we can see what was supposed to happen and just cherish the movies that exist.
