Hey Allan long time no talk, I remember about a year or two ago us having some back and forth on a topic or two. Wow I would have thought all your hard work would have been sold and gone by now. I was planning on ordering a fairing from replico, so your stuff would make for a great alternative to that. I'll e-mail you to ask some specifics. Thanks for the offer, looking forward to your reply..........

Allan: Just tried to e-mail you at the address that was listed with your bike info here on the site, but it came back. DO you have a new address?
I'll just attach some of that note for now w/my address look forward to hearing from you soon.
So now for the nuts and bolts of it:
What parts do you still have for sale? (how intact is the bike, and what are you willing to part with. Gauges, engine, exhaust, etc.)
What replica parts do you have, Seat/rear fairing, Fairing (is the screen broken?), Radio, Antenna, drag bars, lights, mirror, siren)
Do you have any additional pictures you could send along with some descriptions and prices
What is your price (package or piece) and do you know what shipping will run? (I think that's what will kill me, but I've tried and tried and just can't find anything here in the states) There was at one time an importer mentioned on this site located here in Texas (Midland) which would be close enough for me to drive to. Maybe we could go through them?
In your opinion what is left to acquire for your bike? (I.E. where were you going with it).

re the 1 up or 2 up seat, are seats easy to swap?.
I remember the 1 person goose seat was a custom fiberglass piece made by some 70's racing legend that I cant remember the name of. It was called a "Big Butt" seat and was meant for a TZ350?

Dave H. Cool info on the "Big Butt" I had never heard that before...... As for the one up to two up seat swap question. That really wasn't my plan, and I suppose it would depend on the seat types you have and how they are installed. For me what I'm planning (since mine is not a true Goose replica, just in the spirit of) is a seat and tail fairing that will look like The Gosling's. However the tail fairing will be two pieces with a concealed hinge. Much like what I believe we call in the states a European cabinet hinge. This will allow the fwd upper section of the fairing raise up exposing the second (or aft section) of the seat and almost function as a back rest for the passenger. When Jon Buell was first producing his own production bikes (before HD absorbed him/Buell) he had a similar type system. His however was fairly bulky looking (large exposed hinge assembles on the sides. I think Corbin put out a system for a while also. Hopefully I can design/build one that will be fairly inconspicuous. Does that kind of explain what I'm going for? Sort of hard to talk through the design instead of just showing you a drawing.
Goose Boy (Allan): Where you at buddy? Still looking forward to getting that info from you on your parts. Very eager I must say, yes very eager. Hands getting sweaty just thinking about the parts acquisition....... Drop me a line boy! I'm a waiting............ sorry to hear about the PC problems hope that's all that's a miss a you are well in other respects...
I would be interested in all but the frame and tank (I.E. fairing, seat fairing/base, CB mock, decals, Brkts)
Runcible. (Runcible ??) You out there reading? Where in the states are you located? Maybe we can collaborate, share info and all, at least get together by phone to talk about our bikes and plans..... I'm in San Antonio Texas Look forward to hearing from ya.....

PULSE: Oh yeah, I'm still out here...busy, busy, busy. My own little 'Kwaka' project has been evolving as of late. Its now crossed over from the sublime to the ridiculous. I really wanted to do something "different", so I've now decided to use my 2001 Triumph Bonneville as the base bike for my replica. The plan is to have the color-scheme and decals and such as movie-accurate as possible, but using a somewhat off-the-wall choice of bikes for the base. No doubt this will all entail a lot of DIY work, but hey, if I was sane I wouldn't be doing this in the first place. I've been doing a lot of research (the usual suspects: Replico, AirTECH, etc,) but now that I'm getting ready to begin I'm gonna have to start making a lot of calls to see who's got what and what'll fit my bike. ( Just how much does it cost to call Austrailia?) I'm located in NYC and, needless to say, I will definitely shoot any info I come across to you. Its nice to know I'm not in this alone...
Some things in life, you can't put a price on. I'm not interested in them.

Hey Pulse,
Dont really understand exactly what you are trying to make but if its any help, the proper name of the moulding I was referring to is the custom Bob Vesco "Big Butt" moulding which was originally meant for a Yamaha TZ250/350. There are two types of big butt. The correct Goose one has a 'kick' at the back. as shown in this photo below.
The only place I know you can get the big butt seat is from a US supplier called AirTech streamlining.
Try this link http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/yam ... vesco.html
Hope Ive been of some help
Cheers

AirTech also has a fairing very similar to the Replico (not exact) called the Dunstal. Its in their 'Vintage Fairings' section. Been considering it myself.

Runcible: Not sure about the cost of a phone call, I just faxed them the questions I had. I'll write on Monday from work (where I left the info) and confirm but asnear as I can remember it was right around $700-$750 (US) for the front fairing including shipping. Not to bad from what else I've seen (But still hurts on a budget). They don't offer any brackets or such, but they do offer tinted or clear wind screens. Their unit is also gel coated on both sides now. I've been through the Airtech site a few times, and haven't seen the front fairing you mentioned. Do you know if it's in any of the pictures on their site???? I just scored a old aftermarket upper fairing on e-bay a month back that is pretty close and I'll use untill I can get Allan's or one from Replico sent over. Hey I agree with both (or all) of us being a wee bit off but hey maybe a Bonnie based MFP bike isn't so wacked. If you read the March Hair post some feel they were from a different jurisdiction, hence the different paint scheme. And the same reasoning could be used for the stolden Holden driven by nightrider vrs the Fords everybody else had????? So a Tri bike could just be from another precinct (sp?)....
Dave: Yep went right to a seach after your last post and found the seat/tail (pan) at Airtech. Their price for it doesn't seem to bad ether, but mailto:cr@p sure does add up fast. Thanks for the info on the Gosling being the one with the kick up in the back, I was wondering about that. I'll see If I can't duplicate my design ideas on to a a paint type program or something like (maybe just scan what I've got) and attach it here or e-mail it out to you if you like. May help you understand my crazed mind a little bit more.
