M.F.P Vocabulary and Slang

Post by Uncle Entity »

Hey People,

That's your big chance to have your nickname (or name) listed on the well-famed MAD MAXED !!! HA HA!

I'm planning a big update for the standing sections of M.F.P THE CHRONICLES... Part I and PART II ! Well, I would like to "insert" a sort of small section dedicated to the M.F.P Officers' slang... "Bronze", "S.N.A.F.U", "SAMURAI CODE" and all that stuff. Of course, someone has to listen carefully to the M.F.P radio bulletins/reports, if you know what I mean... the reports, above all ! To a certain extent... you could mention even some of the most obscure Aussie slang words out of there, if you think the Officers use it.

Okay, it could be a "collective" work. Everyone here could write just one 'term' or 'expression' and its meaning in pure vocabulary-styled form.

Thanks!

LOL @ Rock..

What's Snafu?

It's Aussie Surfer Slang, when I was travelling around Oz (years ago), I worked in a Call Centre with a bloke from QLD who was a Surfer, after a 'bad' call he'd say "ahhhhhh SNAFU man"

I asked him what it meant and he said the saying originated in the Aussie Army during World War 2, as a sarcastic comment about standard operating procedures. "Situation Normal, All f**ked Up!" Snafu is used when refering to any f*ck up.

Hope this helps.

I think every English speaking nation's soldiers have claimed to have invented SNAFU during World War 2.

SNAFU is more or less equal to FUBAR, Crate, but I'd say FUBAR is a little stronger. Do you know BOHICA?
