I think the biggest reason that people don;t like MM3 is that it just cant compare to the first two films. But what do you expect? Sequals are rarely better than the original(but i think the Road warrior is better than mad max) so its understandable that a third movie wouldn;t be that good. But if you compare MM3 to all the other post-apoc. movies we've seen its a pretty damn good movie. My basic theory on why we don;t like MM3 is the big budget aspect. I like MM and MM2 and EFNY because they just told an interesting story, good writing, good acting, good action(not unbelievable action)i like movies that want to entertain you not impress you. i think that;s why MM3 tanked with us. But that's just my opinion, I may be wrong.

No, it's your opinion so it can't be wrong (maybe just misguided--I'm kidding).

But, I'll give you my reasons why I did not like MM3. it had nothing to do with big budget. Just think how MM1 could have been with a big budget--OH baby!

Lots of just plain stupid things:

Putting Max out to die on a horse with a bottle or water hanging in front of him--Stupid and wasteful. In a culture where resources are scarce, would you waste a horse for a death penalty? It took a lot of resources to raise that horse and it has tremedous value. Why not just slit Max throart with a knife and feed him to the pigs.

Stupid names: Ironbar Bassie, Entity etc

Stupid costumes, you look really cool in a leather strapless dress and a mask on a pole

Master Blaster. How badass could a giant Down Syndrome person with a pot on his head and a twerp on his back be? I'm sure he is a GREAT fighter.

The attempt to make it some sort of "fable", with hunchbacks yapping on 'bout "dyin' time" is here.

Then, all those stupid kids muttering in broken english-----ugh. The guy (swap?) who has an interceptor website described MM3 as "the goonies"--pretty on target.

The cow mobiles, the weak attempt to redo the great chase in MM2.

I haven't seen it in years--maybe I'll watch and find some more things to complain out.

Now, I don't deny the GOOD thing in MM3, we all know them so I won't go in to them.

I hope this shows you at least one fan's reason for not liking--actually hating, MM3.

For those here in the U.S., film critic Rodger Ebert said he found MM3 to be his favorite of the trilogy (as his quote on the back of the VHS tape says, "A series of films that keep getting better & better").

Anybody have his movie review book that says exactly why it's his favorite?

Lets get back to reality here. The movie had to go somewhere. I know most of you want to see Max drive the Interceptor for the rest of his life, racing around the landscape, saving people, killing bad guys, without a care in sight. But think about it, with the diminishing supply of gasoline, the story they created made sense. The Camels, the methane, the destroyed society.(Barter Town). I don't think I would want to see a MM3 with Max doing the same damn thing of driving the Interceptor, stealing gas. Its all the movies, the writers have to expand. I liked MM3 and I admit there are some stupid parts, but thats the movies.
