Australia or the USA?

I like to travel to the States, especially California. I know a few guys there, all are helpful and they have the same opinion:

This is in reply to Interdictors: SCREWLOOSE: You can make engine mods, as long as they don't alter the stock appearance. basicaly any deviation from stock is illegal. the BoB's blower, wheels & tires, etc, are all no-no's. As for those mags, you can build and own a radical machine, you just can't (legally) drive it anywhere. Race or show only.

I dont know where you got that idea from...

But the rules state that basically that all engine mods must not protrude from the bonnet and that it must be covered by an engine scoop which is no taller then about 3inches? i think... blowers are not illegal..just so long as they dont stick up through the bonnet.

Side pipes are illegal..unless they are fake (exhaust gases must exit behind the rear side window)...so they are allowed on utes.

And the tyre width must not ecceed 1inch greater width then the widest factory rim. However in some states they may allow an engineer approved wider rim so long as you have full floating rear axles. So i have been told....

But yes they are restrictive... but not like some people are led to belive....

as for guns, yeah i like them too and i think they are useful, but id be more than willing to give them and modified cars up for a breath of fresh air in another country.

i hope you dont say this to everyone who expresses irritation with the US. as far as im concerned, people can hate what america is and just want to change it, thats perfectly ok. it just so happens i dont think most americans can be changed.

Not being from Oz, I only know what I have been told, and am certainly open to correction. Most of the horror stories I have heard revolve around the BoB, and the above issues. However, none of the things that make the Aussie no-no list will get a second thought here in the states. My fathers '55 chevy truck would be all sorts of bad news, and even my rather humble Subaru would get busted. I'm used to doing more or less whatever I want to a vehicle.

if you had read my post maybe you would realize i in no way made reference to september 11 or the armed forces, but people tend to be fond of bringing those things up for no reason. and yes, many people in this country DO act like cowards, from duct taping their rooms shut to keep out bio chemicals to hoarding water for the apocolypse to running people thru a stripsearch at the airport.

but if youre so fond of many of our countries failings you can go back to wal mart and watch nascar you dick.

ok, that post was a bit heated, so i apologize for attacking you personally maxx. coward is a loaded word, and it would probably be better if i stated what i meant more clearly.

when i say some americans are cowards, i really mean that they excessively fear things that do not need to be feared so much. every night on the world news, there is invariably a story about a child rape in california, a product recall thats being blown out of proportion, or some other matter that is meant to make people scared. the result is that parents irrationally fear letting their kids play outside, or refuse to go to malls during holidays because they fear terrorism.

what my point is is that bad things are always going to happen, and we can never stop them completly. obviously, america needs to take steps to increase security for many different things, but we too often go overboard, and the result is a culture of fear that is so irrational that it irritates me to no end.

i would like to see our country accept the fact that people are going to get get food poisening, going to get hurt, and going to die, and while these things should be fought there must be limits to how far we go. right now we do not place limits on ourselves, and thats why i would like to visit a country where people are a little more accepting of things that are going to happen, and where people are not constantly blowing things that do happen out of proportion.

And MAXXX - I gotta tell you - I disagree amte sorry, but only on your 'who d yuo think ITALY would ask to help them if attacked etc. Personally i don't give a sh*t who i offend on this one, cause in my opinion you AMERICAN's are far too easy to offend - noone can say sh*t against your country without hearing a defeaning rant about your defenses - notice its never about the beautiful weather and people, or the landscapes - its always about "yeah well , we got more guns, and we always fight good, and could blow up anyone man, everyone will come runnin' to us if sh*t goes down" - well f**k off, who gives a sh*t, okay fair enough, the country's powerful it can probably kick everyone elses arses - woopee, who the f**k starts half the sh*t in this world - you say your only defending and helping out - but in reality your just sticking your nose in -then you come to AUSTRALIA, and drag us into the sh*t - "yeah we wanna go f**k up that SADDAM guy -are you comin' or what? cause if you don't we won't come help you when you start some sh*t" - well name a war AUSTRALIA has started.
