YOUR FIRST CAR.
First car 1965 Galaxie 500 LTD,2 door,352 4V,C6 auto.Learned how to burn the tires real good by reving it up and dropping the shifter from neutral to low. Also learned how to break a valve retainer and grind up an intake valve.
Want it back?no,I had the chance years ago.But I DID buy two more 65 2 doors recently to ,ake the 65 that I would have ordered when it was new.
Got my BoB and everything else was just a car.Bill

Yeah, I learnt alot in mine, got pretty good at clutchys, but go through the back tyres too much. I love those knobs who sit at the lights, dropping 'em, trying to show you their clutching, till you take a peak over their laps, and see the knobs are cheating by pulling their handbrake on.
Tried alot of MAD MAX stunts in it too. I remember trying to prove to myself, that MAX didn't just hit the brakes when, he pulled up at the MACK, i always thought he threw it in reverse, so ofcourse i had to try it, and the result was disasterous, well not that bad, i made sure i wasn't going too fast incase it didn't work. And so all i got was a big loud grinding noise, and bad burnt oil smell, like when you ride the clutch too much, just ended up slowing right down, notopping all cool like with jumping, spinning back wheels, like MAX did.
one things for sure though, i'd always had a tough time getting into reverse in that car, since i needed a new clutch, but after that for some reason, it got better

YOUR FIRST CAR.
I had a friend that swore up & down that the Black was a '73 Javelin AMX and that the Yellow cars were all ford Mustangs customized by George Barris in California and shipped to Australia.
But in them days, we didn't have ANY way of finding out what they were.
No Internet!
It wasn't untill after I got internet that I found out what the cars all were (for certain)
I had some years earlier deduced (incorrctly)from the ONLY periodical article I'd ever seen on Aussie cars that the BOB was a Phase III Falcon GTHO!
But the Javelin remains my favorite.
Followed very closely by the Falcons and Dodge Challengers.
It occurs that since I'm fairly unfamilliar with Aussie cars, a lot of you Australlians might not be familliar with American cars, so I'll include this link to a site with a Nice AMC http://www.javelinamx.com/JavHome/uncar/uncar.htm.

I still have my first car, a 1966 Ford Mustang with a rebuilt 289V8 engine I bought in 1984. Haven't taken very good care of the outside (hell, the guy who sold it to me just threw a Miracle paint job on it), but it gets regular oil changes and tuneups, and runs like a top.
I also had a friend (not a real Max fanatic) who swore to me that Max's car was a Javelin. I wish I still had contact with her so I could rub her nose in it. (among other things)
YOUR FIRST CAR.
My first car was a 1973 Buick Century Luxus. A horrid dark green 2 door with white vinyl top and 350ci, 4bbl,350TH tranny and factory duel exhaust. Supposedly the "luxury" version of the last Stage 1 that Buick produced (Stage 1's were still made that year but I think that '74 was the last year for them). Anyway, it would smoke the back tires but handled like a boat and it had a very comfy interior (front seat like someone's couch...great for dates!

In retrospect...I sure miss the "Luxus",but not the Camero!
Cheers,

YOUR FIRST CAR.
First car I had was a Suzuki Swift 1ltr. I think its a Holden Barina in Austrailia I had the wee thin 3 years not a bit of bother from it. Went and sold it got a Vauxhall Corsa Sri with the UKP and the F**ker blew up a month later ten a month after that the joyriders tried to break into it and steal it couldnt do it so they f**cked the door up. Then the wheel bearings went and that was it 6mnths after having it I sold it on for half the price I bought it for and I now drive a Ford Focus.
Want a past master like a Ford Serria Cosworth or a MK2 Ford Escort RS 2000 something basicall that stands out from the crowd!!!
Pray hes out there!!

At 15 I was GIVEN my dad's '74 Dodge Dart Swinger.
At 16 I bought a '66 Dodge Charger big block.
At 18 I bought another '66 Charger (small block), then a '67 Charger (big block), then another '66 Charger (no engine).
I'm 19 now and still have them all.

ALLAN - your f**kin crazy, how the f**k, could you carve up an XA like that? then again, if your primarily a Bike man, like a few on this FOUM, i guess it wern't too sacred to ya.
Yeah us AUSSIE's were always very farmiliar with yank cars, see we had movies from you guys to tell us, what was what.
Not an attack against you guys, but thats what really pissed us off about you yanks, nothing existed outside of your country, you couldn't imagine, that any car outside of AMERICA, could be as hot as what you got. I know you had no movies to tell you what was what, like we did, though you did have the MAD MAX's, and though all of the cars were debadged, MAX's yellow INTERCEPTOR, if you look real close still has its FALCON, badge in the front grill, and look on the NIGHTRIDERS dash board, clearly says MONARO.
Like i said though, you guys had no info on AUS MUSCLE CARS, probably before the NET.
