Street Machine 'Max' reference August '03

A couple of references in this month's Street Machine/Street Machine Fords

In the Street Machine Ford special there is an article about the ten most desirable V8 fords and the Interceptor gets a gernsey. There is a photo which I think comes from the article about the restored interceptor. It doesn't start well ... stating that the interceptor was based on an XC Falcon coupe!!

In the August Street Machine there is an article about vans at a van show and has a couple of pics of a replica of the Arcadipane 'Concord' van which of course was the genisis of the interceptor nose cone.

As an asside there was an article in a recent Motor magazine comparing the current crop of Australian Muscle cars that was entitled "Mad Maxed" .... yet again cementing the mythologies of the film as a central theme in Austraian car culture 25 years later.

theae movies will never die, man, especially in our (Aussie) car mags, as old as the movies are, you can still find an article or even a small reference in any car mag you buy.

did you see the pic of the black xc coupe with the high rise kit?

its a local car but ive never seen it, i have looked out for it often and hope to get a pic soon.
