Max's Gun
Max's Gun
When Max first arrives at Bartertown in BT, one of the many weapons he hands in is a WW1-era gun of the same type that Bubba Zanetti had in MM1. Could it be the same gun, or another that Max found somewhere? I should think they'd be damn near impossible to find in post-nuclear Australia.
Quit toying, Bubba!
Max's Gun
He might of pimped the Mauser, but doubtful due to film editing. Max gets shot/run over, blows bubba away, gets up (sort of) and gets a glimpse of Toes ugly mug, flops against the BoB, then we see the BoB scratch, and haul arse down the road after Toecutter.
Shotgun shells can easily be reloaded with almost anything, but finding specific ammo for such an antique Mauser would be rare indeed...maybe limited to the rounds in the mag only. I'm surprised the .303 Max fires in the "Crack in me Arse" camp worked without discharging back in his face. Who knows if that thing was under water and rusted, or filled with dirt and jammed. Oh well, good storytelling...

Max's Gun
The Mauser C96 is an antique gun, that's true, but an ameliorated copy of it was build in China, Korea and Spain and used till 1985 by the chinese police officers! Bubba's gun could be one of this copys received by the black market and so, no longer an antique weapon! If the gun is avaible, the ammo will be it to. Maybe, Mauser copys were one of the favourite weapons of the trashmen elite during the Mad Max 1 era. This gun is robust, a very hot caliber! Later, after the great disaster, Max found such a trashmen Mauser and ammo.
