Guns in Mad Max
Anyone notice the odd assortment of weapons in the original film?
I watched it on DVD again last night and was wondering why Max ends up with the sawn off shotgun when he still seems to be carrying his MFP Magnum at one point. What happened to the big pump action he had earlier?
Somewhere on the site someone notes that Bubba shoots Max with the broomhandle Mauser, but if you look carefully it is actually a small .38 revolver. There is an awesome array of odds and sods weapons.
Does anyone know why they chopped and changed so much?
If your engine doesn't blow, it sucks.

I'm not sure, if Max's gun is really a sawn off shotgun. Maybe a fantasy gun. The grip doesn't looks like a "real" shotgun grip to me.
The Magnum probably was at the headquarters as the the riffle he used when Johnny was arrested.
He was on vacation as the Toecutter gang killed his wife/girlfriend. So a part of the weapons were unattainable for him.
WAIT! He had the Magnum! Just watched the death of Bubba Zanetti. To kill someone with a "shotgun" is much cooler than using a modern weapon. MAD MAX is a western after all

I could probably make it on my own, but I like you kids.
