Greetings. To be totally accurate, you're better off with an XB unless you're willing to do some bodywork and switch out the instrument panel. From what I understand, the front clips, door leading edges and some of the mounting points are different...let alone the side marker lights (horizontal verses vertical), instrument panel gauges and some other fit issues.

Someone on the Yahoo Mad Max Replicas board did a "Half Max" out of an XC, and it looked pretty tough. The infamous "Car 17" is an XC as well (listed in the replicas section on this site).

If you want the absolute lowdown, talk to Gordon Hayes from Perth Aus. He's in the business of building MM1 accurate replicas...he'd have the answers as well.

Hope this helps...but if you already have the XC, run with it.

A 76 XB coupe would be virtually identical except for the rear marker lights... the Max car had vertical ones and the 76 XB would have horizontal.

The only other difference I can think of is that the speedo would be in KPH as the Max car had MPH.

Heya Mohawk, what were you thinking of using besides a Falcon?

Don't get me wrong... I'm behind anyone that builds their dream. I've sold quite a few blower switches and blue lights

to guys with Torinos and Mustangs over the past couple of years so as long as you're happy with the end result, that's all that matters.

I was only able to obtain an XB after some asshole on a Harley decided to pull a stupid stunt and then ran over me and my 3 boys a few years back.... I must say I'm looking forward to the day when I can cruise behind him on his bike while I'm in my XB....

Just imagine what will be going through his head!!

your nosecone ??? it should be easy, Harley riders got real big heads, make an easy target. They aren't real fast either, a 6 cyl would blow it into the weeds.

send some pictures when you run him over.
