Car chases

Don't know if this has already been asked, as I'm new, but what does everyone think are the best car chases in cinema?

For my part, I love the chase in Ronin where they chse mercs and audis through the middle of paris. The intro chase to MM1 is fantastic, as is the end chase of MM2. The only other one I can think of at the moment is Bullit.

Any others?

The opening chase of Mad Max is one of my favourites.

The scene in the French Connection where Popeye Doyle is chasing the train in the Buick Skylark is an excellent one.

For laughs alone the final chase scene in the Blues Brothers with all of the crashing cop cars, etc is up there with the best of them...

Dog,

The car in French Connection is a Pontiac Lemans.

Roy Scheider was in another cop movie called the Seven-Ups that had a decent chase scene, I think he was driving a Nova-esque Ventura in that one.

Smokey and the Bandit is one long car chase. The original Italian Job is a great one.

I've watched every car chase film I have been able to find. I think Mad Max 1's opening sequence is probably the best ever done. The audio and camera work is just outstanding.

I thought the second chase in Ronin (Peugot 406 vs. BMW 5 Series), was fantastic! Also I thought the final chase in Mission Impossible 2 was also Brilliant.

I think that two of the best car chases in cinema are the 1971 movie Vanishing Point (the whole movie) and the end chase in the original Gone in 60 Seconds movie (1974).

Of course, the opening chase in MM1 is one of the greatest car chases ever made.

The end chase in the movie "The Driver" with the Trans Am and the Chevy pick-up. The 'audition' with Mercedes is good, but the trashing of the TA is fun to watch. (The game is loosely based this movie). What a great low-key movie! Ryan O'neal, Bruce Dern, and Isabel Adjani!. And if you really think about the movie plot, you realise that "Heat" is a remake. (Both involved Walter Hill, who also did 'Streets of Fire')

#6: The Seven-Ups Ventura / Bonneville(?) sequence

#7: Ronin Pugeot / BMW chase

#8: Duel (the whole thing)

#9: The French Connection

#10: MMBTD Train chase.
