guns in the Mad Max trilogy
I am a Floyd Junkie!!! I have every album from Piper at the Gates of Dawn, to Echoes. (except Works, I still have to get that one) Saw them in concert at Mile High stadium for the Division Bell tour. The light / laser show was so intense Denver rerouted air traffic away from the stadium for the first time in history. I can now die happy, what a show!

Yeah, what brand of rifle is it?
My gatlin gun is supposed to spin, but the ideas I have don't always work out. Theories are vicious little bastards.
60's and 70's rock is the best so far. I don't venture too far off the classic rock station here in my shop. Floyd is awesome. It seems to me like they should make a new classification for Pink Floyd. It's not just classic rock, it's "IMPERIAL ORCHESTRA ROCK." That's what it sounds like to me.
I wonder if Nitro (the guy who started this thread) is even still reading. I singlehandedly killed his topic and now we're talking about music and political jive. At least now I don't have to write essays, I can just stick to regular-sized posts.

Hey Rocky, I just took a cruise through the pages of topics and it seems that you "make your presence known" quite a bit. Do you have to post on EVERY topic?
Well it seems the heated political debate has chilled and nobody's interested anymore.
So sad, 'cause I was rock-and-rollin' back there!

But its just that every aspect or topic that comes up to do with MAX, i have an opinion on, i've had all these topics in my head for years, and noone to discuss them with, so here i am.

guns in the Mad Max trilogy
Was just watching MM1 and noticed that each and every MFP officer carried a side arm that looks remarkably like a S&W "Trooper" .357 which came with a 4" barrel.Max carried it in a shoulder holster.Goose carried it in a cross draw holster on his left side.Roop carried it slung on his belt almost to his back (ala John Wayne style) and Charlie carried it on his right side on his belt.
Other weapons carried by the MFP included Roop's bolt action rifle (sorry don't know what type...don't like bolt actions myself) and he carried a sawn off double shotgun of at least 12 Gauge.Max carries a 12 gauge pump of indertminate brand (seen at the Chevy crash site) as well as a sawn off 12 gauge which I remember seeing a version where he saws it down, but can't locate that copy now.
Hope this helps,
Step

If you can locate that copy, you'll make a lot of new best friends. That scene is long roumored, but I don't think proof of it's existance has ever surfaced.

Yeah, that scene is like a holy grail of Maxian lore. Someday, somebody's gonna find a version at a yard sale taped off of cinemax or HBO in the early eighties and they're going to have proof at last! My cousin grew up on those channels during that time and he swears that he saw a scene like that. It's turned out to be a real ufo/bigfoot/ghost type of thing.
Hey Step, Thanks for chiming in a little late. No hard fellin's eh? Most people just have to assume that the main MFP characters carry S&W .357s, but since nobody really knows for sure, we're all just grabbing our collective asses by asking the same questions over and over. That bolt action was probably something like a .308 Remington or knockoff, and there are way too many 12 guage shotguns in the world to even begin to find out what type of shotguns they used. I don't know for sure what you were saying about Max's shotgun, but I think you said it was Johnny's shotgun from the hot rod crash, is that what you said? There are more than a few shotguns floating around the movies to get confused, but I'm sure the shotgun Max saws off is the same one he was carrying when Jenni was run down at May's house. Either that, or one he was issued or used in the MFP like the other guys. Either way, they're almost identical and the semantics of detail will surely be the end of our sanity.
