RacerX: put a 1-2 sec. burst of silly stuff connected to the big red button

Doesn't Silly stuff make the engine cool down. Cause i read about a dragracer in Sweden that's gonna use Methanol as fuel and gas as extra when using Nos.

Nitrous cools the combustion chamber temps yes, kinda induces a better burn...along with the added oxygen.

Mitch / 5.7 Inter- I'm planning on doing something a little different to my replica over the next two years. For one, it's going to have a blown 429, American wagonwheels (inside the fenders), no radio, no blue light, cloth seat trim, and the paint is going to be the BOB scheme, but I plan on putting House of Kolor Dark Lilac Pearl over the gloss black area. That way it looks black from 10 feet away, until you look in the highlights, or go under flourescent lights at night, then it turns dark purple. The zoomies are going to be custom as well. I've talked to a guy about putting an ignitor in the zoomies, set to spark (either unburnt fuel or a shot of propane) when the tach hits 4500 or-so RPM to shoot flames out the zoomies like some of the old Merc leadsleds that are here in Dee-troit.

It's going to be "one of the other guys in the department." Sooo. Sorry to all the purists out there...I'll respect your car and drool on it none the less...but don't you dare get in my face about how I did mine...cause you're better off to "Just walk away," or plop down the $45,000 US to have Gordon/Grant build me what you think I aught to have...

Geez after looking all this time for my soapbox...I found meself standing on it.

I like the idea of the Black interceptor being a variation of a type of pursuit car. Maybe it was just an 'extra special' variant. They were trying to keep Max interested, afterall. Since the blue Monaro Nightrider stole was a 'Pursuit Special', it seems logical.

I like 5.7's idea, but with another twist. How about a four door version in black? Although, I'm leaning towards no supercharger.....

NO NO NO!!! Gotta have that blower man!!! even if it is fake... nothing like that 'whine" when criusing!

I thought about that flame kit too as I just watched an episode of "trucks" where they installed a unit... however the propane sounds like more fun and wold produce a F*&%$#@G huge flame compared to the regular way.

Well, how about a 'gear drive' for the sound? Look in the photos section of Mad Max Movies at the Black interceptor without the blower. Some autoshow, I think. then picture it as the four door. Maybe halfway between normal MFP patrol car and the full on, spare no expense Special.

A gear drive would work indeed but you can't turn it off and on. The blower belt whine is much louder also and more distinct in my opinion.

But you can't turn a real blower on and off, either.Image Except for the late eighties MR2. For some the issue of having a blower that wasn't functional is not a problem, but, to me, I couldn't stand it. For what you'd pay to fake it, your a third there. Although, there is still the issue of fuel injection. I've been doing a little research on that particular matter. It looks possible to build a dual 'four venturi' throttle body (dry type) to fit on top of the blower. This uses a couple of injector rails down on the manifold. ECM and filtering are the hurdles.

Hey Hunter, Where did you see that map of the US showing dots where the Replicas were located? I'd love to see that. I looked around the madmaxmovies.com site and didn't catch it. Thanks!

Ford has a concept Mustang with a on/off blower. 590HP on Ethanol.
