In the post MM1 world, I wonder what ever became of the MFP.
Ever see the similarity between the outfits of the MFP, and the leather suited drivers in Lord H's gang?
Think of the MFP leather outfit: the angle of the zipper, the aviator sunglasses on Max and Goose's
silver helmet w/ mouthguard. Now think of the driver who flips the sedan in the openning of MM2,
the one who kills "Dog", the dude from the snake drop, etc. The only thing I haven't checked
(which who clinch it), is if these drivers in MM2 bear the same oval shoulder pads as the MFP officers did.
However, we see what appear to be sedans with police lights and sirens in MM2,
but these look nothing like the MFP Falcons. What were those make & models anyway?

I think most of the outfits that the humungus's gang wore were stolen off the cold dead body of an MFP officer. Think about guys like Roop and Goose, why would they turn to the "dark side." I think most MFP guys became cops to try and save civilization, and they died trying. So their leathers were probably stolen and worn because of thier durability and such (not to mention cool looks). As for the cars, my Dad's Jeep has a light bar and sirens, and he's not a cop. So the cars (I can't distinguish the models because some are heavily modified) are most likely just fitted with them to give it personality, it doesn't mean that they were cop car originally. I could be totally off though, but that's my 2 cents.

I agree with the Dark One that most of the MFP
type warriors in MM2 are probably just marauders
who stole the uniforms...but, I think at least one
or two of those guys are actual MFP officers. The
cars and the outfits are not exactly like those
from MM1, but I have an explanation for the
differences. The MFP we saw in MM1 were members
of the Breaker Squad, a highway/gang patrol. I
believe the regular MFP officers drove less
powerful vehicles and had different uniforms than
the Breaker Squad. Also, the Breaker Squad only had
89 members, so it would make more sense that if
a marauder wanted to kill a bronze, the larger
regular MFP force would have more officers killed.
Some cars in MM2 are regular MFP vehicles and a
few just modified like Darky said. (Take a look at
the cop car that pulls up after the Interceptor
explodes. It has a red/orange stripe down its side
and an MFP looking badge on it. LOOK CLOSELY!
Another car has a badge too!)

This has got me thinking, I think I remember that these helmeted bronze dudes are known as "gayboy beserkers" and the other guys with their faces and bodies wrapped in rags are known as "smegma crazies".
but enough of that. I think what is being implied by the existance of these helmeted bronze guys is that society has gone so rotten and corrupt that now even the cops themselves now have banded together as a violent gang and now pillage rather than protecting. I dont think you can under rate the amount that george miller tries to portray this message.
Consider at the end of the day when the trumpet sounds and they all stop the attacks and fall back to the nightime positions, there are several cop lights and sirens. George miller is trying stongly to portray that max is now battling no only against violent wierdo mowhawkers but against the very highly trained (police) forces he used to believe and work with.
The difference in cop uniforms may simply be as a result of the bronzes coming from a different states/cities police force or MFP
perhaps cars like the landau and the red xa/ab wipeout falcon are hi performace ex cop cars stolen by these renegade cops when the oil wars began.
