The can on the door is a beer can. At least that is what is assumed from what little can be seen and the style/vintage of the can.
Thanks! I was thinking it was a soft drink can accidentally left on set, especially since it is not ever seen in the hero car. Looking closer, there does not seem to be a label on the can, so maybe it was intended to be there. So if you are building the stunt car...

Where / how did you find the enameled pot? Could use one of those.
Ebay Australia. Bought it in May, but the listing page is already gone. A couple of them have sold in the last couple of months, although two have a green rims rather than black. Postage from Oz sucks... Might want to throwin some search terms and do the "Add to Watchlist" thing

Soft drink cans in the 70s had those buttons as well, i remember pressing them and seeing splashback
There is a bar that sticks out to the right of the binocular tripod that we have not been able to figure out. See the pics below. Was talking to some British reeneactors and one of them is familar with heliographs. He quickly noted that the bar was actually the broken third leg of the tripod that was wired to a branch! Obvious when someone points it out...
In this pic you can also see the small hook under the center of the tripod that is used to hold weights to hold the heliograph steady in use. It also shows the thread protector cap on the top of the tripod. The chain in the first pic keeps it attached to the tripod.

This post is the first in a series of posts exploring the contents of Max's car in Mad Max 2/Road Warrior with an eye to finding items to detail the inside of an interceptor. I would imagine that someone has done this research already, but I have not seen the results of any such research.
Took a cruise through the BluRay to pull a bunch of screen shots to see what we could see.
This is just my speculation, so if I got something wrong or you have a different interpretation, comment away!
Part 1. Binoculars and tripod
We will start with the binoculars and tripod that Max uses overlooking the oil compound. The binoculars are probably 10x binocs with short leather strip sling/handle
These are fairly large binoculars, too big to be 6x or 8x nocs. Right eye piece and right front lens frame are missing. Brass center rod. They have a leather sling/handle with a single knot on the right side. He carries them on his belt until the camp overlooking the oil compound. Mounted on the belt by taking the sling over and behind the belt and then coming up on the front of the belt and hooking it over the brass hook (?).
Green tripod
It seems to be a British tripod for a heliograph. The arm holds a secondary mirror. Chain is supposed to have a thread protector cap on the end.
Note the bracket that limits the sling travel about 2/3 of the way down the leg. Max’s tripod also has this feature just to the right of the bottom of the hatchet handle.
Sling seen crossing his left boot ankle, then coming up to the sling bracket and looking over the left keg towards the axe.
There is a bar that sticks out to the right of the binocular tripod that we have not been able to figure out. See the pics below.
Just noticed that you can see the third (broken) leg in this pic and its no longer wired to a branch. Tripod must be leaning up against the branch behind it.
Camo Nets
When Max takes the camo net(s) off of the car at the hill camp, there appear to be multiple camo nets on the car. On the hood and front part of the cabin there is one net with lots of scrim added. Over the driver side rear window, over the roof spoiler and possibly on the lower quarter panel is another net with little to no scrim on on it. A third net is covering the upper quarter panel and wrapping around over he trunk/boot. The shape of the scrim elements make it appear to be a modern plastic scrim style net, possibly the same style net used at the compound.
I have a pic, but have not had any luck uploading it here or on Imjur.
