Max hears of some place far away where civilization is returning to normal (There's even law and order) but most people can't get there because it's so far away and isolated that you need a vehicle to get there. He stumbles across a powerful warlord dude who has a fleet of alternate fuel powered vehicles (methane? ) that they roam the wasteland causing trouble with. Max trys to steal one of the vehicles but is captured and they kill his dog (or monkey or whatever) He later escapes and steals the leader's vehicle (a supercharged V6) and the movie is all about the gang chasing him down to get their prize vehicle back. At the end Max beats them all and manages to get to the place he wanted to go and lives happily ever after(?)
It was just "the last of the V/8 Interceptors" the last one produced. Doesn't mean they are all gone.
as evidenced by batmax5's photo, Full metal challenge, Junkyard wars, and similar shows, Junkmobiles are becoming very popular in the mainstream. I have a feeling this is what we will be seeing onscreen. (Yeah!!!)
"And Max is a tough guy who is smart and has reflexes, but the bottom line is the real weapon is his car. I am glad they chose to delete the scene "Max arms himself" from MM1 because it would have shifted the focus away from the car as his primary weapon."
Oh c'mon !!!!!
First of all, Max can reduce Indiana Jones in tons of small cubes and send them to that fukkin' museum where Indy was working. There is no comparison. The guy beated Blaster's ass !!!!!!!!
And please. MAX is the weapon. He's strong. He gets reflexes. He can DRIVE every vehicle on the face of Earth - he's the ultimate pilot. He's a motherfuc+ker, he's smart!
No matters what vehicle, no matters what situation, he's the MAN !!!!!!
Most of the vehicles in Road Warrior/Thunderdome had V8s. It would be cool to see Max stumble on another muscle car in Fury Road, but it'll probably be a dune buggy type deal to fit the progression after Beyond Thunderdome.
The vehicles on Full Metal Challenge are going along with the theme established in Thunderdome, but I agree with Mad Max RW that I would prefer it if Max drove a regular muscle car. And I would really love it if it was based on a GM product and not a Ford!
Uncle, Max is very tough, he beat Blaster, but he is at his best when he is A Driver. He needs a car. The car itself isn't the star of the movie. Max is the hero. But his weapon of choice has to be a car.
