Mad Max 4

Post by Interdictor »

I have been waiting to hear this for a long time! Internet roumors pop up all the time, but with CNN reporting it (granted from Variety as a source) I have faith in this news now ! my only complaint (besides those expressed by Interceptbuilder, which I totally agree with,) is the title. "Fury Road". ugh. sounds like the sequel to "Joyride". I hope this is a teaser title. Oh, well, Call it: Cars 'n Dirt 'n Stuff, as long as it delivers.

And the masses rejoiced...YEAH!

Fury Road... sounds like the sequel to the "tuna" car movie "The not-so Fast and the all but Furious."

So anyone hear if it's a PRE-quel?

Let's hope it's not like "Mad Mariner Beyond the Beaches" (Waterworld).

The script is apparently now set in stone and was highy praised by the head of Fox studios.

Regarding Gordons comment about Max not showing up for mm3. I believe this represents the hardest point for Miller. How to make this movie interesting and 'Max' like for the fans when the fans resist the character developing beyond a 'Mad' point he arrived at 2 1/2 movies ago. We saw the character of 'Bruce Wayne's development dileberatley halted it in the Batman films in the same fashion. He became so boring they brought in Robin to make the good guys interesting. Im sure max wont be laden with a wisecracking hollywood style offsider as per hollywood formula.

What has Miller got in store? I'm sure he's aware of the effect of the direction he took in mm3. But I doubt he will just to a lazy Hollywood rehash MM2. He's got too much artistic integrity to put his name to something unoriginal like that. Remember his response to being over-ruled by the Hollywood machine when he directed the Witches of Eastwick? He is a believer in development, plot and story.

This is going to be a good ride. The vibe just seems right.[/font]

Network Ten, here in Australia just had a story on MM4 and said that Mel will return to Australia in May to begin filming, and that the movie will have a budget of $180,000,000, and Mel would be paid $45,000,000.

Thank you GEROGE MILLER, and MEL!!!!!!!

Oh hell, what a movie ...

Date of release, May 2003. A little fast, no? The preproduction, already has begun since a long time it seems, or what? I'm not that sure ...

And don't forget, that another George wants to make his sequel at the same time.

I could probably make it on my own, but I like you kids.

The movie will cost a little over $100 million and Mel Gibson is getting $25 million to star as Max. Filming will BEGIN May 2003. I hope some Aussie fans sneak some pictures of the set out for us :)

May 2003 is when they actually start filming. I expect we'll see some pre production press conference about late April or early May with teaser trailers in maybe August probably for a November/December release... I hope!

Anyone care to speculate on who will do the soundtrack, is Brian May (of MM1 and MM2 and NOT Queen!) still around or even Maurice Jarre for that matter as there needs to be some consistency in the series.

I think Brian May died last year, although I hope someone proves me wrong. The soundtrack in the first 2 films (by May) were awesome, but Thunderdome was way too Disney. One of my only worries about Mad Max 4 is the soundtrack. I really REALLY hope they don't throw in any today's "song of the month" kinda crap.

My other worry is Max getting killed off. They thought about it in Beyond Thunderdome, and I truly hope it doesn't happen in Fury Road. That would be a serious bummer.
