Thunderdome! Thunderdome! Thunderdome!

I think maybe this should be solved there, or at least pushed off to another thread. It's getting hard to weed through the bickering to get to the answers and insight. Why don't you both start your own thread and let those that want to listen to ether of you respectfully go to those... 5.7 started a good thread with some good info. followed by some interesting thoughts and some valid questions, just to have yall get personnel. Not to speak for 5.7 but if your not going to answer a question or give some insight step off...

Hey Peter what about adding a Flame forum, for this type of thing and/or even just for fun [/font]

Yeah, its just both companies that make them, the casing is rather unconvential looking on the outside...which I'm sure they could easily fix, but don't care about.

I can live with them...under a hood...but not sticking out of the hood...which isn't a problem for the Whipple/Kenne Bell ones as they aren't big enough to do so.

As for getting the height on a functioning blower, "tunnel-ram" type manifolds used to be quite popular in the custom van scene back in the 70's. How about one of them? Doesn't help with the swithability though!

ImageThe cases look like they do because thats whats needed for them to work. How is it unconventional? Just because it doesnt look like a GMC case. The shape and size of the screws are much different fomr the lobes of a Roots. I LIKE the compact design of the screw case. My brother previoulsy had a NASCAR edition F150 that he modded with a Kenne Bell. It was great but he never bothered to get a custom chip burned so it had some driveability problems. He traded it in on a Lightning earlier this year.

You're misunderstanding. And yes, for the most part, not looking like a GMC, BDS, Weiand blower IS unconvential to the majority.

As for the size, look at the PSI supercharger I mention, they aren't small at all. The size is because of the amount of air they discharge, just like the Eaton blowers come in different sizes, so do the screw chargers.

The thing is, there is no in between, you either go with the Autorotor which largest i've seen is 2.2L or the PSI screws for Top Fuel dragsters, which are built for 500-800 ci engines.

What I want is a screw lobe design in a larger size so I don't have to use TWO smaller screwchargers. Check out the whipple charger site, in order to use their units on a 500 ci engine, you have to use more than one to get a desired horsepower.

B&M/Holley has 144 ci and 174 ci Roots lobe blowers as well if you want small size...but then again, you're limited by how much air they flow just as the 2L Autorotors.
