This is going to be multiple posts so I can get all of the pictures in...
I have wanted an MFP inform jacket for a very long time. Unfortunately, I missed out on the Abbyshot jackets. And the Japanese jackets are WAY too pricey. And it would appear that South Beach Leathers has stopped making them as well. So, I’ve been on the hunt for a while to find a jacket to meet my needs. I would have loved an Abbyshot that I could wear in the spring and fall, but I’ve resigned myself to the fact that a heavier jacket is probably not in the cards right now, and that I would have to settle for a thin jacket. That said, I stumbled across a jacket on eBay that caught my eye. They had 2 pictures of what is supposed to be their jacket, plus the same 2 photos that all of the Pakistan manufacturers use (makes me wonder how many of them are the same company doing business under multiple names) The seller offered real leather, it wasn’t a million dollars ($107 to be exact), and they offered to make my jacket without the goofy leather shoulder caps. Sold. So I purchased this jacket on the 30th of March, and it arrived from Pakistan on the 3rd of April. I can’t even get stuff shipped from within my own state in that time frame…
The watermark says “Rayan Leathers”, but the bag it came in and the tag in the jacket say “Tashco Fashion”. If you go to their website, this jacket is not listed. So it makes me wonder if South Beach is doing the same thing (all of their movie jackets have been removed from their website).
"Rayan Leathers" or "Tashco Fashion" MFP Jacket
Re: "Rayan Leathers" or "Tashco Fashion" MFP Jacket
The jacket is extremely thin. I expected as much. It’s not going to be warm. More like a leather wind breaker. But, it will be a good match for the pleather jackets seen in the movie. I also have a vintage leather jacket that was my dad’s that was much more expensive and is even thinner, so I don’t feel too bad. A sample swatch shows how thin it is.
The craftsmanship is pretty good. And they omitted the shoulder caps as I requested. The bottom does flair out on these unfortunately.

But… There is an extra set of snaps on the upper collar.
They are not on the jacket in their listing. Bummer. So I contacted the seller about an exchange, and I was told that they could not exchange it because it was made without the shoulder caps for me, but offered me another coat with a corrected collar for half price. Another bummer. So I handled the jacket for a while and decided that if the snaps were not on the collar, I would have happily paid the 2 prices for one coat. Probably a stupid move on my part, but I accepted their offer, and now I will have a second jacket to do something with. Here is to hoping that the deal works out the way it’s supposed to. Anyway, on to the rest of the jacket. The back has the correct “v” shape to the seam, even if it is a little subtle. The waist tabs are too high. Something I will have corrected if I order another one in the future.

The cuff zippers are leather backed.
And there are 2 inside breast pockets.
The lining is thin and probably weak, but it also reminds me of the liner in my dad’s jacket. Time will tell how it holds up. All in all though, for not having much else on the market right now, as well as the extremely low price tag, I’m pretty darn happy with it. I will update when I get the jacket with the corrected collar. This forum doesn’t seem to be super active, so I thought I would post something resembling a review for one of the jackets available in 2018.-

How did the second corrected jacket turn out?
I started a MM1 costume build years ago but abandoned it. I had abbyshot badges but the jacket wasn’t available anymore. So got a south beach one which was a massive disappointment. I kinda expected bad (p)leather quality but it was even worse. My measurements roughly matched the ‘medium’ size. Either their sizing chart was off or they eyeballed everything when they cut the leather. But the whole jacket was ill-fitting. The side tabs were crooked, one side was literally 2 inches higher than the other side. Since i ordered the jacket without the shoulder caps i couldn’t return.

I am so sorry for not getting back to this sooner. I commented in my original post that the forum didn't seem super active, and then I took 3 years to return to my post. Awesome. Anyway, the second jacket came in without the snaps on the collar, so good there. It was also slightly, just slightly, thicker leather. Shortly after I got the jacket, my life got in the way of things. I have gotten the shoulder caps for it, and I managed to snag 2 badges from madmaxbadges before they shut down. Now it seems they are up and running again, so I may have to grab the crosshair pin and a badge number plate soon. I haven't done anything with the jacket since I got it though. I have also found thejacketmaker.com, and they do custom work. There is somebody in their custom jackets gallery wearing an MFP jacket, so I may try one of their jackets before I go popping holes to rivet the shoulder caps on this one. I will try to remember to come back with another update when this project progresses, but it's been slow from the start.

Yellowstone made a bespoke leather jacket for me, completely customized for a perfect fit, with design tweaks to accommodate all my gadgets. And all from the comfort of home

Abbyshot has told a number of people (including me) that they would restart doing the Max and Goose jackets if they got enough interest. I have been passing on the word everywhere I can. Even you are not in the market today, PLEASE contact them. Both through their website's request form, as well as via phone. REQUEST THEY RESTART THIER ICONIC MAX LINE!!!! All it will take is a steady stream of people requesting and they will be available again.
Help yourself and all you fellow Mad Max fans who may want a jacket, gloves, or badges in the future.
It surprises me that folks are not doing this.
That is all.....

Please accept my apologies for not responding sooner. I said in my first post that the forum didn't appear to be very busy, and then I disappeared for three years before returning to it. Awesome. Anyway, the second jacket arrived without the collar snaps, so that's nice. It was also somewhat thicker leather, only a smidgeon thicker. My life got in the way of things shortly after I received the jacket. I acquired the shoulder caps for it, and I received two badges from madmaxbadges before they went out of business. Now that they appear to be back up and operating, I may have to go get the crosshair pin and a badge number plate.
