Fury Road "Black & Chrome" Edition releasing Dec.6th US

Instead of a black and white version I'd prefer a version with JUST the chases and stunts and WITHOUT the rest of the "story".
They could call it the Mad Max edition of Mad Max Fury Road.

I actually tried to make one myself.
But its a real chore trying to edit out every instance of the 5 jar-jars and the jar-jarlini's.
I just gave up.

Still no sign of either the black and chrome Blu-ray or High Octane box set for the UK. Looks like I'm going to have to go with an expensive import.
Anyone have any information?

As for doing a fan edit of the original film as it was before the reshoots it's fairly easy. Most of the reshoots are after the moment where Furiosa cries in the sand.

Basically the original film was Furiosa crying, then cut back to the villains as they see the truck going back.

Just try to do this, see how much it improves the film (and makes it shorter). You can also delete the extra scene where Max as a nightmare in the car and wakes up and asks questions to Furiosa. Reshoots. Expendable stuff.

I have no clue why Warner asked Miller to make the film longer, it makes no sense. If they didn't do all these scenes, the movies would have made 200 millions more at the box office.

I thought the additional shoots were predominantly around the tanker and citadel rather than the 'night' scenes with vulvani. Which, by the way, are beautifully shot. You 100% need that breather before the final chase. Would jar like he'll otherwise.

That would be so forced to go from the sand scene to the tanker racing past Joe's camp. You can't seriously blame some night scenes of worldbulding and humanising the characters the reason it it didn't make 200 million more

Originally WB wanted the film to start just when Furiosa was turning off the convey route to Gastown. Imagine how bad that would have been.

After the filming wrapped in Namibia the shooting moved to Australia to film the 'studio set' portion of the movie which included the Citadel scenes, some interior shots etc. They weren't reshooting anything, it was all according to the script.

There was, however a problem after filming in Namibia in that Warner Bros wanted to completely take out the Citadel scenes and just cut right to the chase. Miller strongly opposed to it and fought hard to shoot the movie in its entirety.
The whole 'reshoot' rumor basically comes from the fact that the production had moved back to Warner Bros studios after filming in Namibia. All of the day for night scenes were filmed in Namibia too and were in the script, so I have no idea what you're talking about.

When a movie films for six months (July-Dec 2012) and then films three more weeks almost one year later (Nov/Dec 2013), it is not unreasonable to refer to that as "reshooting", even if that is technically not what they were doing.

Is what I said in the previous paragraph not exactly how Fury Road was made? Why didn't you mention the gap of one entire year in your post?

Because reshoots mean re-shooting scenes accordingly. That's what happens when movie executives or whoever, for various reasons feel like scenes need to be altered. There were no scenes that were filmed in Namibia and required to be reshot again for those reasons. The production just carried on with a small hiccup induced by Warner Bros executives. Miller fought for that movie during that time and after you slip up like this, the shooting schedule gets messed up, takes time to gather everything up again. That opened up the window for actors to do what they needed to do in the meantime and once they were called back to the set the media misinterpreted the reasons, called it a 'reshoot' because on the surface that's what it looked like and started to look for drama in all this be it Charlize being pissed off she had to cut her hair again etc. That's something that I don't agree with at all. Therefore it wasn't a reshoot, it was a slight delay.
