My Mad Max Timeline website is up!
Re: My Mad Max Timeline blog is up!
I really like the timeline. I just don't like how you go with the Gyro Captain -> Jedediah theory. Because it really wasn't intended that way. Bruce Spence was a really popular Aussie character actor in the 70s-80s, he has been in everything from the Matrix films to the Lord Of The Rings films to the Star Wars films. Putting him in two MM films as separate characters was probably just a convenient move, not a deliberate one.

I know... but there are several "mysterious hints" in Thunderdome, and I really like the idea that in The Wasteland nothing is truly "celebrated" (even friendship), because people are busy with SURVIVAL minute by minute.tehCal wrote:I really like the timeline. Thank you so much for liking it.

Dude, it's been confirmed by Miller himself, that gyro captain is NOT jedediah!
Why after all these years do people still insist on it?
And despite George himself confirming it, why in the fuck didn't Max and Jedediah bring it up when they met in Thunderdome???
"Oh it's YOU!!!
Remember that whole business with that compound and the tanker of gas etc, it nearly fucking killed us, remember???"
How could such a profound experience slip their minds?

Re: My Mad Max Timeline blog is up!
Next week I'm starting to work on a series (hopefully) of videos explaining the actual timeline of events for Mad Max movies, so there's something to look forward to. I've been toying with the idea of a podcast for about a month now but I ramble too much, or I try to pack too much information into an hour, so it's best to make the whole thing in a visual format.rockatansky4073 wrote:Dude, it's been confirmed by Miller himself, that gyro captain is NOT jedediah!

Uncle,
As much as I admire your efforts in creating your own timeline, there's a problem with what you're doing. It takes a lot for you to admit that you're pulling that stuff out of thin air and it gives most people the impression that this is the actual backstory to Mad Max movies that Miller had come up with. That is simply not the case. That's why I'm going to do those videos once and for all because I'm simply tired of folks coming up with crazy theories as if Mad Max movies are just complete myths not joined with any continuity. It goes as far as a lot of folks claiming Max is not necessarily even the same character in any of the movies. This goes against everything that Miller did to create those movies, but I'm not going to go into detail in here, the videos will explain everything.

Great idea. It will be your "vision", anything to be considered "universal". Anyway, I'm all for it.Taipan wrote:

The creature goes FAR BEYOND the creator and his original intentions. I based my assumptions on what I see "on-screen". And, of course, I figured out the "lapses of times", I mean the "gaps of years" in terms of time. Building the Thunderdome requires years, it's not something you can do within months... especially in a Post-apocalyptic Australia.
Do it. It will be a nice addition. It will be cool. That is simply not the case. I think I just spent a half hour reading this thread, and I'm still not caught up. I love this discussion.
