After months of procrastination, it was suddenly Friday before the event and all I had accomplished was painting the boomerang silver. My wife had scheduled a family dinner that night, so I woke up early on Saturday and got to work. It was Hot Glue City. I tried to make a pair of fur briefs from the animal skin but ended up making a sort of makeshift skirt out of it. I glued pieces of fur to the boots and put some latigo lace on the shoulders and front of the vest. I ran over to Harbor Freight and bought a pair of welding gloves, glued on some fur and the chain mail, trimmed the fingers, and that was that. (My son, ever vigilant, asked about the tusks on the back of the glove—a detail I'd never noticed until an RPF-er pointed them out—but it was too late for that.)
Long story short, it ended up looking pretty good—especially at a distance. I couldn't get my kid's hair to stand up properly, but oh, well.

As a bonus, both the original Feral Kid (Emil Minty) and Lord Humungus (Kjell Nilsson) have "liked" this on Facebook. I'm ecstatic.
