Building the Lone Wolf

I've often thought about building one of these but I know I'll never get around to it. Hell I've been fiddling with a 1/25 model for three or four years and with the reaming I'm getting from the Child Support Agency I can't see me having any 'project' cash for the forseeable future.

This would give you the rear engine and trans with hardly any weight up high.

Dave,find you a Ford F250 it don't have to be a dually. The one in the movie looked like a it was based off a 67-79 F250.The rear wheels are put together prob the same way the Landau and the Red Xa were and not a true dually style wheel.While finding a 351 C or M or 400 M would be more movie correct.I'm sure you can get away with 2 302 sb Fords.And as for building the thing,its basically a mutant old school sprint car so you can look at how they built the cages on them and get a better idea for the Lone Wolf for the build. I know you can pull this off man Go for it!

I would go with a fake in the rear like the movie version.

As story wise goes, two engines makes sense, but they wouldn't have been used at the same time. One would have been a live spare. That way if your running from someone, or chasing someone, and you have engine problems (likely in the desert, with failing parts) , you drop one into neutral and turn on the spare, and your not going to be road kill.

i agree, fake it. a better use of dual engines would be to have one v8 powerful to escape/chase and a little economical 4 banger for general cruising around not chewing all your guzzoline (obviously not what they made for the movie, but makes sense to me).

Hi everyone! It's been awhile, I know...

Ok, so seven years later I've decided to resurrect this threat. My Lone Wolf build is officially a go. I am, however, going to need some help identifying and finding so of it's parts and pieces.

- The seat. It looks like an old race car seat, with holes for the seatbelts. Possibly a Kirkey?

- The blower hat. Anyone know what it's called/where to find one?

- The expanded metal used for its body. I've looked everywhere trying to ID exactly what it is. Any help?

I'd appreciate it if someone spots these and points me in their direction! Please keep an eye out for me!
