Nux car from Fury Road

Post by Scote »

Hi Guys,

I'm new here but I am a big fan of Mad max universe. I'm also a 3d modeller who would like to recreate the Nux car from the movie Fury Road.

I know it's a 1932 Chevy five-window coupe but do you know if the front grid is custom or come from an other car model? What about the wings and the tires?

It's a 1934 Chevy 5 window Coupe. 1932 is more 'square' you can tell by the rear windows. The front grille on Nux's car is from the original car. Side pipes are custom made.

Tyres are Cooper Discoverer STT, both front and back. I can't eyeball the size but they make them from "30 to "37 so take your pick.

I've been off the board a while.

I'm Quite obsessed with this car.

The tires are two different brands, I believe they are Goodyearson one end and Coopers on the other.

from my note pad.
tires front Cooper Discoverer STT All-Terrain Tire about 18-20"
tires rear Goodyear Wrangler MT/R® 15-16" rim looks like interceptor 8 spoke rim, 37" 75 side the military thread. It looks like the old version though
mullins ranger black rear wheel mine spec with red and yellow line OR Dynamic Black Sunraysia 8 spoke wheel
front 15 hole front with fat doughnut edge in the center. may be a 18-20"

UPDATE FROM DAN BROWN ON FACEBOOK
5 stud 4 1/4"PCD 6" front rims 235/75R15 Cooper/Discoverer rear 5 stud 4 1/2PCD 8" rims 37x12.5T15 Goodyear/Wtanglers

If you take a close looks the rear rims look very similar to the Interceptor wheel, those leads me to believe they may be 15-16" rims, the make for that tire with that in combo only makes a 35 and 37 inch side.

I too was going to model a NUX car.
If you take a look on ebay there is a scale model of a '33 5 window in the die cast section, the front cowl between the firewall and the windshield post is where most of the difference is at.

I believe one of the copies of the NUX car is in UK and the rest are in AU. There seems to be stories that 3 complete were made and 1 for interiors and close up shots. I have a photo of 3 together at the same time.

Same for the war rig and max's interceptors and razor cola,Wonder where they are now ?
The chain in those handcuffs is high-tensile steel, it'll take you ten minutes to hack through it with this, now if your lucky ? you can hack through your ankle in five minutes. Go !

There are at least 2 of each of the main cars. Probably just in storage in an AU production lot.
