Weta Workshop design on Fury Road, FXGuide article

Post by LostVikingNZ »

FX Guide have written a great article about Weta Workshop's design involvement in Fury Road.

The article includes a video with concept art and interviews with Richard Taylor and the design team.
It's a pretty good read, and the concept art seems new. :D

Thanks for that article!

Really interesting, I haven't seen any of those designs before either, although I'm familiar with WETA from their work on Elysium and certain car designs.
It's not explicitly said in the video but I'm wondering what their contributions really were, because it seems like they were basing their concept work on Peter Pounds and Brendan McCarthy's and it resulted in a ton of designs that we never got to see. Maybe they were just hired to bring in some new ideas to the table and pieces of them were used in the movie, like the counterweight to the poles and circular rim on the Rhino Claw Car. Still need to read that article, maybe the answer is there :)
