Gastown Warboys?

Post by levcore »

So in the 3rd deleted scene one of the Imperators starts barking commands to the war boys beginning with "Gastown Warboys..." he then goes on "Citadel Warboys..."

To me this confirms that the War Boys are not exclusive to The Citadel whereas i had previously thought they were. I had assumed the war partys from Gastown and Bullet Farm were not comprised of any specific Warboys but rather just Gastown muscle (pole cats, flamers etc. as Splendid says) and Bullet Farm muscle.

My question is are all the Warboys found and recruited at The Citadel and then Joe hands them out to People Eater and Bullet Farmer or do you think People Eater and Bullet Farmer recruit their own Warboys? I would imagine that a few wretched end up at the gates of Gastown or the Bullet Farm desperate for entry so it's feasible that young Warboys could be offered up there. Thoughts?

I would assume all War Boys would start as War Pups at the Citadel where they are brainwashed until strong enough to serve under a particular imperator.

I would also assume that any single War Boy would be appointed based on their skillset.

The game may well answer that question, since the War Boys in that are all from Gas Town.

My guess is they are sent to Gastown and Bullet Farm when they need fresh soldiers. Like MWFV8 said it would most likely be based on their skills as drivers, mechanics, warriors, strength, acrobatics etc etc

Its also worth noting that their is some sort of apprentice program in the citadel. Twice we see a Warboy specifically pick up a Warpup as if they have been tasked to look after them.

From the Cinefex article, Lesley Vanderwalt says " To cover up his (Immortan Joe) diseased skin, he'd covered himself in white clay in a ritualistic fashion. The War Boys emulated that look and high-ranking warriors had more white powder on them. Bullet Farm guys were rusty and yellow from chemicals in weapons manufacture. Gas Town characters dealt with oil and fire, so they were dark and charred, covered in burns."

In one of articles with the costume department it was also revealed that Gas Town was mostly populated by men because no woman would want to work on an oil rig. That apparently explained weird fetishes and S/M looks of some Gas Town WarBoys, including The People Eater himself with his nipple clamps (and originally red high heels no less).
