Story Part 2

Post by Road Worthy »

Pulse.......where can I find your stories? I've haven't been around a while and not up to date on all of the new site etc.

Scene: Max under the farmhouse........it is late morning.

Max spent the good part of the morning inventorying the cellar contents. He had feed the dog a few scraps from his meager breakfast and a few more sips of water. The basement's contents were sparse at best. Max did not find anything of real interest except a clever, but primitive lighting system. The several wet cell batteries he found were dead. Which must have prompted the former basement dwellers to seek other forms of lighting. Attached to a large flywheel-type contraption, the occupants had rigged up a set of aircraft magnetos, which were connected to a power transformer.

Max gave the wheels a quick spin, and a lonely light bulb dangling from the ceiling rafters struggled to life, illuminating the basement. Max smirked, admiring the resourcefulness of humans when in need. Although flawed from its, impractical nature, the light did a decent job of piercing the darkness, for a brief time at least. Perhaps, Max thought, the lighting contraption was designed to serve two purposes, one for lighting and the other to occupy the countless hours of a small child who was in charge of keeping the wheel turning.

Max gave the heavy wheel a harder tug and it spun lazily around, the light bulb reacted with a brighter glow, which groped at the darkened shadows a bit more. Max refocused his attention back to Dog, for that is what he unknowing named his new pet (which was by no means his initial intentions......Who needs another mouth to feed in this world?). For the little attention Max gave Dog, Dog's uncertain condition had drastically changed for the better. Dog had found the strength to lift his head, when the glaring brightness of the newly rekindled light bulb stabbed at his eyes. Dog watched Max curiously for even Dog knew that in this world it was everyone for his self.

At that moment, a sifting dust drifted down from above it danced in whirling cloudy arcs in the light. It was followed by a groaning creak of the rough-hewn floor timbers of the room above. Max's hand dropped to the butt of his holstered weapon, his index finger automatically flicking the snap which secured the weapon in place. He side stepped over to the middle of the room and reached up and twisted the naked bulb till it died. His partially exposed fingers sizzled a bit from the heat. Max ignored the pain as always, his mind concentrating on more important issue. One being, his lack of attention of closing the hidden door at the top of the stairs.

Max eye's blindly followed the intruder's movements above as he walked from one end of the house to the next. Max was not surprised when the "hidden door" was quickly slammed shut. The unmistakable sound of debris being thrown against the door to serve as a barricade to keep the door shut, made Max's eyes roll in his head. He let out a brief sigh.......he knew better.

Max spent the next few moment contemplating the situation. Meanwhile, the intruder, just as Max suspected, went straight for the Interceptor. Just then, Max shot for the beam of sunlight that filtered from the hole in the basement wall, all the while reaching around to detached the small pick/shovel from around his waist.

With the first swing, it dig dug securely into a crevice between the rocks which formed the basement structure. Max gave a mighty tug, and nothing budged. He tried again with a renewed effort and this time, the mortar cracked. Bits of debris rained down. With another tug, a large stone thudded to the ground. This one stone must have been the catalyst because all the surrounding stones had also been broken free from their bond and were easily dropped to the basement floor. Once, large enough, Max slid his way through the dusty opening.

Dog, after seeing Max's feet disappeared through the hole warily got up then scampered over the fallen stones, and with a short hop he too was out through the hole in the basement wall.

Off the net till Monday 14/10/02. Look for the next part then.

I know exactly waht happens next...

After scrambling through the hole in the wall, Max and Dog are frozen in their tracks in horrified disbelief. The sight before them.... it cannot be adequately described. It's Wrinkles, cavorting and swilling beer around two lesbians wrestling in a vat of honey. Above the sugary carnage is the bone-cracking sound of engines roaring like the second coming of Christ. Grimacing, Rockatansky puts his fingers in his ears.

"Dog." Rare words from Max manage to claw their way to the top of the noise. "Cover your eyes."

LOL!! :-P

Road Worthy: I sent my story (note the singular, I'm still working on the next installment, and a separate but related one) to Uncle and he intends to post it on Crack some time next week or so, (I also sent it to Michael at SWAT but never received a reply). I guess you'll have to wait until then, sorry.

Well I'm hooked. I'll see you Monday for the next installment. And I do the same thing on my adult message board - make the women wait for each chapter, posting one a day to get'em going. But I can't write details about cars and weapons much - they only want sex and "torture" lol.
