Max's earpiece

What's the deal?
I don't remember he wearing the earpiece in any scene of the movie...

Rumours are that this particular Max was part of some kind of SWAT unit ... and that finding the earpiece acted as a sort of comfort to him, whether it worked or not. Some kind of link to the past, to when he had team-mates to fall back on. This would perhaps tie-in with people's memories of him wearing it quite a lot during the test screenings.

I'm not sure about this to be honest.

Personally, it looks like an earpiece that connected Tom Hardy to George Miller or whoever behind the camera, keeping him informed during some sequences and giving him directions.

Either way, it was painted out during the finished film.

They digitally removed it from the final film. He wears no ear piece in the film.

It was likely used by Hardy to take cues while filming and wasn't intended as part of the costume. In some interviews they said it was difficult to hear normally (and act) over the constant roar of engines.

Wait..... how do you know that? Digitally removing an ear piece from an actor's face shot by shot must be gigantic.

yeah that would of been a huge task, but they definitely films some scenes with it in. See below.

But so would of removing Furisosa's arm in every shot she was in too.

In the test screening from 2014 it shows Max finding the earpiece in the bag that he takes from one of the wives in the War Rig and actually put it in his ear. It was a character moment that just didn't gel with the situation they were about to get into. To think that Hardy or any actor for that matter wants to listen to music on an earpiece while they are shooting an actual scene is a bit of a stretch.

So, let me get this straight.
Max finds a broken earpiece and puts it in his ear, then he walks around with it for the rest of the movie?
