Does that mean you are alright to change the law and allow 50/50 equal visitation rights to fathers after divorce and that wives do not get the whole house nor a massive pay out and everything in divorce gets split down the middle?

I am not sure if this is really the right place for such a debate, however here is Australia fathers get 50/50 custody of the children, if they want it of course. A lot of fathers don't want it. Assets share usually comes down to how good a negotiator your lawyer is.

I have no problem with having some tough female characters....it just seems like this max seems to be a role reversal where the max character "IS" the weaker helpless "damsel in distress".....and the tough woman is playing the usual max character...am I wrong....i hope I am

Its not like other Mad Max movies, where you have a tough Max,and some tough women, here you have a tough woman...instead of a tough max....

Even in the new official trailer.....the woman says "you want to get out of here...." , this is like What Max says in Road Warrior "you wanna get out of here, come talk to me"....i guess it would be to hard to have Max saying lines that tie in the past movies, lets just have the girl do it

Unless just the trailers want to show this.....but I dont believe that, why would they want to convey that...if that's not the way the movie will be???

we will see soon enough though :).

In defense of Max within the Mad Max world, with the exception of the original, the story of Mad Max revolves around Max as the observer, the outsider as it were not the central arch of the story. Mad Max 2 and Beyond Thunderdome for example, The story of two is told through the eyes of the Feral Kid, the townspeople are the ones that bring a "Call to Action" for Max. They are the setting, Max is the driver of the story, but not its vehicle (no pun intended) Beyond Thunderdome is the arch of the children. It is their story that Max is traveling through and brings them from point A to point B. I see Fury Road and Furiosa as the same type of dynamic. It is her story in a way. Max has wondered into her story and becomes a part of it.

That is a good point Lonewolf

IDE like to add,the whole role reversal male/female thing,is pretty popular in Hollywood as of late

And in the new trailer,Furiosa saying "you wanna get out of here"....it kinda pissed me off....lol

Plus, let's not forget that Fury Road was described by Miller way way back as:
"This movie is an account of the Road War which follows. It is based on the Word Burgers of the History Men and eyewitness accounts of those who survived."

I don't know that I'd say Max is 'weaker'. Since this movie was intended to be a jumping off point for Furiosa stories, it makes sense that she would be a strong character (whether male or female). Watching the trailers, I don't see Max as weak, just weary. Remember, in this setting Furiosa has been living in some sort of stable environment while Max has been 'out there with the vermin" in day to day survival. Then rolled in his car, tattooed, beaten, etc. I don't think I'd be at my best either.
So, he is effectively stranded and she has a way out for him. Not so different from the other films, he lost his family, then lost his dog and car, then loses his car again and a whole passle of kids. He never seems to have as much at the end as he does at the beginning. The reluctant hero who is really nothing more than the average person doing what he has to do. Then again, he does exactly look like he's taking it easy on the drive thru the desert.

I'm not sure he looked very weak carrying a car door chained to one hand, a shotgun in the other while lugging a guy on his shoulders.
