Exactly same opinion. The book is just interesting for the pictures we can find in it...

I haven't read them but found a couple of links that said the books mention that a few weeks after Max had his revenge against Toecutter's gang that "the world had finally blown itself to hell a few weeks later it had seemed only fitting. He had taken off alone into the wastes and lived there ever since". Another link mentioned the Gyro Captain died in 2013 according to the novels too...maybe you guys with copies can verify?

I see we're into the Jed=Gyro thing again...
Interesting. I've read Mad Max 2 in a french version years ago. But I remember it and the translation fits perfectly.

According to your link, how died the gyro Cap ?

The french novelization is really bad, it was written by Philipe Manoeuvre from the movie. The english novelization was written from the screenplay. The two books have nothing in common.
Oh yeah, I know that. I was only talking about the words "the world had finally blown itself to hell a few weeks later it had seemed only fitting. He had taken off alone into the wastes and lived there ever since" ;)

From my memories, this part is exactly the same in the Manoeuvre's book.

The pics in black and White are genious and make that book interesting to see, not to read. :D Our Philippe Manoeuvre was funny in his Show "Les enfants du Rock", but later he was on the set for Beyond Thunderdome back in 1984 and didn't amuse me. He asked thousand of questions and even for Justine Clarke who was sitting in a wheel chair.
I could probably make it on my own, but I like you kids.

Now that I think about it, the MM2 novelization was talking about the apocalypse happening later, right after MM1.

Evidence is on screen anyway. 8-)

Society is still running in MM1. Structures are intact. Max and his wife go on holyday and everything seems "normal" in the rural Australia.

Give it a break Uncle. I've seen you trying to push that 'timeline' of yours on IMDB and in here and now you're asking Peter to put it up on the site? Geez dude, how desperate are you?
There's not even a single citation to back your stuff up, everything is an assumption that leads to things like "Jedediah is Gyro", ignoring what Miller said about the backstory, screwing up the dates and the whole timeline. Why would Peter include it on the page? It contradicts the stuff that's already on it!
Jimmies rustled.

Gotta say I enjoyed reading the timeline, Uncle!

It may not be all canonical but full marks for at least making the effort

If folk think this is tricky, then check out the Prometheus forum, that will give anyone a headache!

I already created a Mad Max site in the past. What's your problem? I'm just a fan. What's the problem with having my blog listed in the links?

Man, life is beautiful, don't be so depressing.
