SANTA CLARITA, Calif., Nov. 30 (UPI) -- U.S. actor Paul Walker, star of "The Fast and the Furious" movies, and a second person died Saturday when Walker's Porsche crashed and burned, TMZ reported.
The entertainment news website said the single-car accident happened in Santa Clarita, Calif. TMZ said sources connected to Walker said the 40-year-old actor was in the sports car when the driver lost control and slammed into a post or a tree and caught fire.
It wasn't clear who was driving or how the accident happened, TMZ said. The name of the second occupant also was not known.
TMZ said its sources said Walker was in Santa Clarita for a car show to support the Philippines typhoon relief effort and was taking friends for rides in his new Porsche GT.
A spokesman for Walker confirmed the actor was leaving the charity event when the accident occurred, TMZ said.
Walker also appeared in "Varsity Blues," "Eight Below," "Into the Blue," "She's All That" and "Takers." His television credits included the National Geographic Channel's "Expedition Great White" series.
RIP Paul Walker.
I just saw it in the local news over here. There was not much left of the porsche. They also said his friend was driving, not Paul.
"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.
Well, I was really shocked as I heard from TV that actor Paul Walker died in a mysterious way after what happened after a charity event 2 weeks ago with this crash with that Porsche. But his own family wants to see this film (The Fast And Firous 7) finished, even when the whole team from the set is still KO after what happened to Paul. As for me: I got all 6 movies and it will be hard to me so see the 7'th.
I could probably make it on my own, but I like you kids.
