Thanks fellas. Battery was flat due to dodgy alternator, which is now fixed.

I'm replacing a flat battery in my XC V8. But it hasn't been "kicked in the guts" for about 2-3 months. Any precautions I should take before turning that key? Car is in good mechanical condition otherwise.

Unfortunately I have to sell my Falcon. $100 a week in fuel to get to my new job is killing me! It's in excellent nick mechanically (hell, I was driving 600 km a week to work and back!) but the original paint job is showing its age.
