Miller has said that the cars in Fury Road are part of the characters personality. So having the interceptor help re-introduce Max's character. Once this was established the car wasn't required anymore from the point of view of telling the story and was promptly destroyed!

This is not in the UK FOR ANOTHER MONTH!!!! I have the German 3D Steelbook on order though, however that's still not out until 23 September. I'm in the UK but just ordered the Oz Anothology so I can get The madness of Max too. Don't understand why the release date over here is a month later than some countries!?

I take it as being part of Slit's personality (bit of an a***hole). Like in the way he won't acknowledge that Immortan Joe looks at Nux.
