Re: "The Praetorian" original script treatment by John Collee
I'd say it works on it's own, and as a prequel to FURY ROAD, with the caveat that it does rewrite FURY ROAD's emotional narrative slightly, in retrospect. I mean it is powerful stuff that we get in FURIOSA, but you're right that it's not exactly the backstory that's implied from FURY ROAD. I think i...

Oh hey, that's my comment!
So, there you are. There's more small differences obviously, but those are the major ones.

Re: "The Praetorian" original script treatment by John Collee
I've read it. When I find some time, I'll transcribe the major differences here in detail. I won't send the thing out just yet, because I'm very paranoid and I don't want to get sued or anything if that's even a possibility. Also, if anyone has read any later drafts, I'm curious about those - becaus...

Re: News on the Fury Road : "The Wasteland" & "Furiosa"
I'll say the thing too about Dementus is that, to me, he felt like a guy consciously playing a character - except, as we see throughout the film, that over the top brutality is killing him inside. He's a guy making himself big and terrible out of hurt, and failing at it because he really just wants ...

Re: Furiosa | the spoiler-free thread
I was fine with not seeing too much of the full War aspect - I don't know if this was where Miller's head was at, but it kind of reminded me of Visconti's historical epics like Senso and The Leopard, both of which are these big, sweeping films that take place over a lot of years that only show or me...

Re: News on the Fury Road : "The Wasteland" & "Furiosa"
Brilliant, brilliant stuff. Just saw it last night, totally unexpectedly - seeing it again on Friday! I'm kind of bowled over. The CG and general look of the film is very much of a piece with Fury Road, with the caveat that this is both a different period of time in the Wasteland, and it's mythologi...

Re: The Wretched
I work in agriculture and food production. In short it's not possible to feed that amount of people. It's one thing every post apocalyptic, sci-fi, fantasy etc film always gets wrong. When you see film hackers punching in a few lines and getting into a government database, that would be how I would...

I mean, I don't really watch TV anymore, but it doesn't seem like movies get advertised very much.

Re: FURIOSA TRAILER!
I don't think it's so much that they only had a quarry to shoot in - they had tons of allowances from the Australian government to shoot the film wherever. I think it's a lot of reasons - as Taipan said, but I'm much more positive on it, Miller seems really big recently on emphasizing the deliberate...
