Re: cobra truck tribute
OK, time for an update. It's been a crazy summer and no new actual work has been done since the last pics. My son has been busy with other projects (girlfriends) and work, my knee surgery slowed me down for a bit. I have had to start a new truck project, and not had any time to work on this truck. F...

Re: cobra truck tribute
Yes, we all know and understand that the louvers are punched in a sheet of steel, probably glued to the hood (no weld job could be that crummy that it would peel up like that), but the movie truck was made to last a couple of months of shooting and them off to a scrap yard. I intend to take this tru...

Re: cobra truck tribute
-Newsflash- The identity of "2 Real Cars" is known to me and is a close family member trying to get a rise out of me. Unfortunately, I don't think he expected the kind of backlash he recieved. NONE of his posts were meant to cause any hate or discontent, And I apologize for any trouble thi...

Re: cobra truck tribute
Thanks Toecutter! Done and done. Sorry no progress made yet, Willy is working full time now and I have knee problems. Plus the weather has been crappy. But hope to get something done this afternoon.
Junkyarddog, still haven't found anything close. Looking at making my own replicas.

Re: cobra truck tribute
Hey, don't worry guys, everybody is entitled to their opinion. I asked for honest thoughts at the begining of this thread, and he stated his. Besides, I'm sure he was referring to my picture, and not the truck!

Re: cobra truck tribute
Left side done! The diamond plate really starts to identify the truck for what it is. Having a hard time going to work and not staying home to work on this thing. I added a 1" half round to the inside for strengh and to soften the edge for people climbing in and out of the truck.

Re: cobra truck tribute
Aside from posing for stupid pictures, I did get some work done on the truck. I was gonna buy a piece of diamond plate for the back end, but $135.00 was not in my wallet this week. Then a friend reminded me I left a piece at his shop a few years ago and it was still there. It wasn't quite long enoug...

Re: cobra truck tribute

Re: Building the F100 Cobra Tow Truck
I think the seats look like they came out of a car of the same era, low frame, low back buckets. I found the work lights (3, 1 on back of hood and 2 on end of boom), Hella Matador Work Lamp with Grille & Switch, CR,HL87163 - 12V, 55W, just remove the grill. But at $65.00 ea. I can't afford them ...
