Re: The full 50 minute version of The Making of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome

Some good news for those of us who have wanted to see this for a long time. It's "out there", and has been for about 18 months, though I only found it the other day. Here, at long last, is the full version of The Making of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome . :) https://archive.org/details/the-mak...

Re: Fury Road book being released this month

I have this but haven't started it yet. However I was browsing it at lunchtime today and there was certainly new material for me: further detail as to exactly why the Mel Gibson Fury Road collapsed. Basically, with Mel's fee included, not to mention the 2003 Iraq War, the budget was rising and risin...

Re: The full 50 minute version of The Making of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome

Is it this one you are looking for Uncle ? https://youtu.be/cePsy0KHZ20 That's actually not the one Screwloose, but cheers for the link. This confused me too. I always thought the Thunderdome making-of that was transmitted in the UK in 1985 was the official Kennedy-Miller one, but it wasn't-- it wa...

The Making of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome

I ask this on message boards periodically--does anyone have the full 50 minute version of The Making of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome , which was shown on TV around the World in 1985? Part of it is on YouTube. I seem to recall it was temporarily listed as a Blu-ray extra for the movie, but didn't appea...

Re: Fury Road "Black & Chrome" Edition releasing Dec.6th US

Stamper, I don't know what 'reshoots' you're talking about because the movie didn't have any. After the filming wrapped in Namibia the shooting moved to Australia to film the 'studio set' portion of the movie which included the Citadel scenes, some interior shots etc. They weren't reshooting anythi...

Re: Mad Max - Fury Road…finally winding down…for now!

Something interesting: Fury Road sold no more tickets in the UK than Beyond Thunderdome . This despite the fact that 1985 was near to the absolute nadir of cinema attendances here. Attendances for both were around the 2½ million mark. Same story in Australia btw. In the US however there was a huge d...

Furiosa in the 2004 Fury Road?

As they were just 11 weeks away from filming Fury Road in 2003 with Mel, according to George Miller, they must have put some thought into who would be playing Furiosa. Indeed, I'm surprised she wasn't cast with that short timescale. Who did they think of, I wonder? Nicole Kidman? Cate Blanchett? A c...

Re: Reboot

Whilst I freely admit I'd rather see Mel back in a bone fide sequel to the original movies, I don't see how casting a new actor takes away the Mad Max-ness of Fury Road . Does the Bond fanbase only accept the Connery pics? No, and yet each time a new actor takes on that role the franchise is reboote...

Re: Miller confirms restart next year

Well, fingers crossed it's a non-story. Unless they've held back some of his comments, Hardy doesn't actually say anything about the filming being put back, only that he doesn't know "when it'll come out" - which I'm sure is true. Hope we see it soon anyway. Max and his world is a cracking...

Re: Miller confirms restart next year

Thanks for posting - but, for crying out loud!

Hopefully, he's just playing coy. The rest of his comments are pretty tongue-in-cheek.

Anyone got something more hopeful? Surely Charlize Theron's July comment is too recent for it to have changed again by now.
