Re: From The New York Times: An oral history of 'Fury Road'
You've gotta give it to George Miller. The man really did the thing, better than anyone. And if what Taipan has said before is true, he did a third of it off the back of a major heart attack, no less.

Re: From The New York Times: An oral history of 'Fury Road'
Who would've thought that not only would the movie we all waited 20 years for would actually live up to and surpass the impossible level of hype behind it, but become one of the most lauded, celebrated and studied films of the 21st century? I mean, I know I'm a huge George Miller fanboy, but - like,...

That actually appears to be an on the spot commission for a talk show Mahira was being interviewed on, about the project. The clock character is the talk show's mascot, all Mad Max'd up. And that's actually the talk show host behind him, not young Furiosa in the art he's seen in.

Hi everyone! I haven't posted in a long time, but I'm the source Taipan is quoting from who read the original treatment for The Praetorian. It is excellent. It is obscenely dark. It will answer all of your questions, and it will do so in unexpected ways. When I made the reference to Josh Simmons Bla...

Re: New biography "Miller and Max" on bookshelves June 1
Well, I picked my copy up on Tuesday - while the great book on the Doctor's career in general has yet to be written, as a book centered on the struggle to make each film and his tenacity, it's a revealing portrait and is worth it especially for the way it paints the production of the first film as a...

If I'm correct, WB only owns the distribution rights to the franchise, right?

Re: The future of revamped Mad Max movies.
I think you're becoming far too concerned with the specifics of a backstory that has, in the films themselves at least, never been set in stone and for good reason.

I say give the man some time. I'm certain he's seen enough desert for at least a couple of years, and that he's got other things he wants to make.

Re: The new timeline ruined Max as a character.
Honestly, while Taipan's detective work is astounding and constantly interesting, the idea of canon, with a series that's structured like this, is like the least important thing about it. Canon is literally what you feel it should be, and I think that's by design. Wondering about it is fun for specu...
