Re: mad max search and rescue blazer??
I plan on doing a project vehicle with the shortbed pickup version of about the same year. It would be an MFP "recovery" vehicle like the Highway Patrol guys use. I was thinking a dark police car blue, it could be just the shadow of it's former use as a cop car worked over into a marauder ...

Did you pitch the front grille? All that plastic around the front headlights should go way and show off some ugly sheet metal
and road grime. Add something interesting to protect the radiator. Have you been to your local junkyard yet. You will get some great ideas there.

Nice baja beastie!!!
I don't think there are any definite color stats for the the MFP cars. You might want to look at pics of as many replicas as you can and contact the owner of the car that looks best. You can also look up Ford car color standards for the time and pick some out.

Welcome aboard. What a perfect project to use that car for. Leave plenty of rust showing. Canned spray paint would be used up quickly after the Apocalypse and sun bleached, rusty primer
will be the new black.
will be the new black.

That plate looks great. Jared was looking for some small size rivets that do not crowd the numbers but was having little success.

I loved that movie as a kid. Not exactly a great movie but still has something going for it that makes it worth the watch even today.
