Re: Water MM2

Bart's right, you can easily over analyze the plot of any movie and find big holes in logic. I always thought that water would have been a more important commodity in the world of mm2. That idea gets addressed in mm3 to a limited extent. I don't think I've seen any PAW based movie that gets all the ...

Re: Found a cheap toy sawed off shotgun online

It probably wouldn't make much difference. IIRC you still have to do the associated paperwork that you would have to do to have a legal sawed-off shotgun. There are a couple of threads on here with that info and the armourer can tell you far more about it than I can.

Re: Gun in Baby's hands ...

Yall are right, it could easily be the model 53. I don't have any way of making good screen captures so I can look closely at his gun. I too always wondered why he never used it. It may well have been the lack of suitable blanks. I'm sure that Max would have used a gun of suitable caliber for police...

Re: Gun in Baby's hands ...

I don't recall that they ever fired the gun in the movie, so blank availability might not have been an issue. I mainly think that it was not a 53 based on the the gun being comparatively rare. I'm not saying it absolutely wasn't a 53, just that it was not a likely choice. I personally believe that i...

Re: Gun in Baby's hands ...

This brief article compares the .22 Jet to the .22 Magnum. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0BTT/is_177_29/ai_n14816272 It would seem that the Jet out of a pistol is roughly equivalent to the .22 mag in a rifle. I certainly wouldn't want to be shot with either round but I wouldn't necessarily ...

Re: Gun in Baby's hands ...

I would almost bet that it is not a S&W 53. That was chambered for a round called the .22 jet. They were never particularly popular or common. It's performance wouldn't have been much more than a .22 magnum. I believe that Max's service revolver would have been a .357 magnum of some kind. I can'...

Re: Humongous Revolver

It was likely either a Smith & Wesson Model 29 in .44 mag, or a S&W model 25 in .45 long colt. I think it was likely the latter because it would have been easier to get blanks for the the .45. The .45 LC was probably the most commonly used caliber for handguns used in all those westerns of y...

Re: Apocalyptic Stuff

I love the Dark Tower series. It some of my favorite reading(thus my user name :) ). I don't know how they'll pull off the movies though. But then I didn't think the LOTR movies would turn out as well as they did either. We'll see I suppose. I'll definitely go see the movies if they get made.

Not really a coupe.....

You know, I have been thinking about using a Pickup as a basis for an "inspired by" BoB. They have the advantage of being comparatively cheap for what you get. They have a rugged look and more general utility, which is a consideration because I just can't afford a single purpose vehicle ri...
